Mechanicsville resident Kyle Dylan Dishner, 30, pleaded guilty this week to a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl after being caught by members of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office last summer.
St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling said that on June 3, 2022, detectives from the sheriff’s office executed a search and seizure warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into Dishner and his dealings.
During the search of Dishner and his vehicle, detectives recovered several plastic bags with hundreds of capsules inside the car.
Dishner and a passenger were taken into custody, according to the state’s attorney, and forensic testing later determined that the capsules contained a mixture of drugs that included fentanyl.
“I’d like to acknowledge the excellence of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit,” Sterling said in a statement. “The comprehensive investigation and tremendous police work prevented this supply of the deadly drug, fentanyl, from being available for purchase and consumption in St. Mary’s County.
When he is sentenced later this year, Dishner will face up to 20 years in prison. He remains held without bond.
